Izee's First Haircut

Izee started out happy and curious. He toddled around the salon looking at everything. He really liked the car-shaped chair. When it was time for his haircut he picked out the elephant to sit on. (Someone was already sitting in the car.) We put him on the chair and then the hair dresser brought out the apron. Izee SCREAMED! He tried to get off the elephant as quick as possible. When I picked him up, he held on for dear life. Andrew tried putting on an apron and having Izee sit on his lap in one of the salon chairs but Izee was not having any of it. We tried bubbles and a lollipop but the kids was way too mad. Finally I sat down without an apron and with him still clinging to me. The hairdresser started trimming the back of his hair while he screamed into my shoulder. The whole time he was crying Kae was trying to tell him it was okay. "Haircuts don't hurt, Izee. It's okay." Izee finally calmed down and decided to put up with the cutting. He still clung tightly to me but he wasn't crying anymore. After the hairdresser finished the back and the side she could reach with him clinging to me, I turned him around to face out. He started crying again at first but pretty soon he calmed down and started tolerating the hair cutting again. He watched everything the hairdresser did in the mirror. It was quite an ordeal but Izee made it through his first haircut. He looks so handsome!

Corny Kids

My little guys love corn on the cob! They love it more than kernel corn. I guess it is just more fun to eat it off the cob.

Yoga

I have been trying to be better about working out. Most of my workouts involve the Wii and the balance board. Ideally I either workout after the kids go to bed or during naptime. Sometimes I end up working out with the kids. Izee is not helpful at all but Kae is actully a pretty good workout buddy. He uses a book or upside down puzzle board as his workout board. He is also pretty good at some yoga positions too. It is amazing how flexible he is. Here we are doing the triangle pose.

It's tough being the little brother!

Poor little Izee lost a fight with Kae over a toy a few weeks ago. Izee got a gash under his right eye. We ended up taking him to the hospital. They decided he didn't need stitches but he did need super glue.

(At the hospital - the gash had been cleaned so the gauze is keeping Izee from touching it. )

(The next morning - All glued together.)

(Today - The scar is healing nicely.)

Baptism Birthday

On January 21st we celebrated Kae's "Baptism Birthday". (It was the third Anniversary of the day he was baptized.) Kae picked out strawberry cupcakes with sprinkle frosting. He even helped ice his own cupcakes.

To celebrate we lit Kae's baptism candle, read a passage from his new "big boy bible" that he got at Sunday school and ate cupcakes.

Brotherly Love

Kae and Izee are finally getting to an age where they can play together. They love wrestling, playing ball, playing kitchen, chasing each other and sometimes just hugging.
