Kae has been doing a wonderful job using the potty. I told him when he could go 2 days without an accident we would go to either the zoo or the aquarium. He picked the zoo. He earned his trip late last week but we waited until today so that Nonna and Poppi could join us. It was a beautiful day at the zoo. The only down side was that everyone else in Colorado agreed it was beautiful day and went to the zoo today too.
We arrived early and started our day with donuts. We stopped at the polar bear exhibit where we learned that polar bears are bigger than both Kae and Izee.Next we looked at lots of fish, turtles and lizards. After all that the boys need a juice and snack break so they rested in their strollers while they watched the sea lions. We continued around the zoo and saw giraffes, zebras, and camels before finding our way to the rides. First we rode the train.
Then we rode the carousel. Kae picked a dolphin to ride and Izee picked a hippo.
After the rides we stopped for a picnic lunch in a grassy field.
Izee barely ate (which is weird for him) because he was too busy chasing the geese. I think he was trying to pet them.
The boys were getting pretty tired by this point so we started heading for the exit. We made a couple stops along the way. First we stopped at the penguins but they weren't there. We figured they must be in their caves. Kae even tried out a cave to see what it is like to be a penguin.
Our last stop before we left was the elephants. No zoo trip would be complete without seeing the elephants. We all had a great time!Especially the boys who slept the whole way home.

Potty Time!
The last few days we have been potty training the boys. We decided to try training both boys at the same time. It'll be pretty cool if it works.
Since the weather has been nice this week we have been using the naked from the waist down technique and spending a lot of time outside. The boys have been running around playing with occasional breaks to sit on their froggy potties.
Besides being free of diapers, another advantage of potty training is that you get some adorable pictures that will be great to show to their dates when they get older. :-)

The Story of Wormie
Once upon a time there were two adorable princes, Prince Kae & Prince Izee. The princes loved playing outside. One day they were helping Queen Mommy in the royal garden. They were all digging holes for some new plants when Queen Mommy unearthed a worm.
The princes ran over to see the find. Both princes watched the worm in Queen Mommy's hand. Prince Kae decided he should be named Wormie. Prince Izee was the first to be brave enough to hold Wormie. Wormie wiggled and squiggled on the prince's hand while the prince watched intently.Prince Kae wanted to hold Wormie too. Again Wormie wiggled and squiggled on the prince's hand while the prince watched intently.Queen Mommy explained to the princes how worms wiggle into the ground and how they love living in moist soil like the soil in the garden. Prince Kae suggested they should let Wormie get back to his home so he set Wormie back in the dirt in the garden. The princes watched as Wormie wiggled and squiggled his way back into the dirt. After Wormie was back in his dirt home and hidden from view, the princes and Queen Mommy went back to the job of digging more holes in the garden for the new plants. Prince Kae, Prince, Izee, Queen Mommy and Wormie all lived happily ever after. The End

Chalk Fun
With all this warm weather, we have been spending a lot of time outside. Besides riding bikes, Kae has also been drawing lots of chalk pictures. Sometimes this means I draw the picture that Kae picks.
One evening Poppi was coming over to watch the boys. Kae wanted to draw a picture for Poppi. He wanted Poppi to be riding a bike and pulling Izee in a trailer while Kae was riding next them on his bike. (Kae on a bike is at the very bottom of this picture.)
Kae asked me draw him. Then to draw Daddy, Mommy and Izee. It turned into this masterpiece and family portrait.

Wooden Fun
One Friday I was cleaning up after dinner and my little guys wanted to help. I had made salad in a wooden bowl and served pizza on a wooden cutting board. At first the boys pretended to cook. Then the boys discovered that it was really fun to bang the wooden serving dishes with wooden utensils. I got a few cute pictures of the wooden fun.
March for Babies 2010
March for Babies was on April 24th. It wasn't the warmest day but we still had fun. The cold weather kept a lot of our team at home that morning. Here is our Team that could make it (and that we could find in the registration area) before the walk started. Since it was so cold we had to bundle up our little stroller riders before we set off on the walk.We were pretty much in the middle of the pack when we started the walk. Here is a view of some of the walkers ahead of us.At the finish area they had food and a bounce house. We wanted to stay but it was so cold at this point that we only let the boys jump for a few minutes before we left.As we left, we did got them milk and bananas to enjoy in the car on the way home.
