Sunday (the day after his birthday) was Kae's bowling birthday party.
Izee and Kae's friend, Charlie, bowled too.
We didn't forget the adults. Mommy, Daddy, Nonna, Poppi and Charlie's mom, Rhandine, all bowled as well.
After we finished a game we took a break for cake. Kae loves Toy Story so he got a Buzz Lightyear cake.
In the evening was Kae's camping trip. We did a family camping trip in June and Kae had a great time. He's been wanting to go camping again for months. He decided he wanted to camp in a tent with just Charlie, and no adults. So Daddy slept in his own tent next to the boys' tent in our backyard. Izee got to hang out at the campsite for a little while too before he had to go inside and go to bed.You can't camp without a campfire and s'mores. S'mores were followed by story time in the tent.It was supposed to be bedtime after the stories but the boys stayed up and talked for a couple hours. They did get some sleep and slept in the tent until 7:30 in the morning. Kae had such a fun time that he is already planing his next camping night.

Kae is 4!
Kae turned 4 on Saturday! (I'm not sure how that happened because I swear I just had him.)
Saturday started with birthday pancakes at a local diner. Then we went to Nonna and Poppi's house to open presents.
It is hard being the little brother on big brother's birthday so Izee got a present too.
Kae is an accomplished present opener. So Nonna decided to make a game of present opening. She hid Kae's present and he went on a present hunt. He found his present under a blanket in the guest room.
It was worth the search! He loves his new Mickey Mouse TV/DVD combo for his room.Once all the presents were opened we went to Kaleb's favorite restaurant, 3 Margaritas. He loves sitting outside on the patio and playing in the fountain. As the Birthday Boy, Kae got to wear the big sombaro while they sang Happy Birthday to him. After the singing, I zee had to try the hat too.
After lunch everyone needed a rest so we went home for naps. That evening all the boys (Kae, Izee, Daddy and Poppi) went to the Broncos game. It was preseason but the little boys didn't know the difference.
It was a super fun and exciting day for the whole family!

The Doodle Ranch
We spent Saturday at a Dude Ranch. Kae was so excited to go that he told the neighbors he was going to a "Doodle Ranch". The boys were excited to see the horses. As we drove out to the ranch Izee yelled, "Eeee-Haw" every time he saw a horse.
Here are all my dudes taking a turn in Daddy's cowboy hat.
Andrew and I took a trail ride. The boys were too young for the trail ride so they hung out with Nonna and Poppi. I rode Top Hand and Andrew rode Mariano.
The ranch was beautiful! There were amazing views in every direction.
They also had a really cool tree swing that all of us had to try.
The boys played in the cutest tree house called "The Book Nook".
Kae discovered one of the large rocks made a good slide. Then others had to try it out too.
There was lots of other fun things to do too. They had games, face painiting, a jump castle, hay rides and food. We did have a small mishap when Izee tripped and fell in the pond. Twice. He is fine. It wasn't very deep at all. He was mostly just startled to be in the water.
We couldn't leave the beautiful ranch without a family picture in the flowers.

3rd Annual Firestation Tour
On Kae's second birthday his playgroup took a tour of a local fire station. It wasn't planned for his birthday, it just happened to be on his birthday. Kae loved it! All the kids did. About a year later the city opened a brand new fire station a few blocks from our house. I arranged a tour for Kae and his playgroup on Kae's 3rd birthday. The next week after Kae's birthday he started talking about which fire station he wanted to see for his next birthday. So now it is an annual event. This year I moved it up to the Friday before school starts since so so many of Kae's friends are now in school. Here are some pictures from this year's tour.

Boulder County Fair
Last week we went to the fair. Kae was super excited to ride all the rides! For the week before the fair opened they were setting it up and Kae pointed it out every time we drove past the fairgrounds.
When we got to the fair it was dinner time. I let Kae pick one ride to ride before dinner. He picked the carousel, specifically the chicken. Izee got to ride the carousel too but he was a little nervous about it. After a few times around, Izee decided it was fun and not too scary.
After the carousel we had fries and turkey legs for dinner. Then it was right back to the rides. Unfortunately, Izee was too small for most of the rides but he did get to ride the train and the carousel.
Kaleb got to ride lots and lots of rides. He rode the carousel, fire truck, motorcycle, dinosaur, spaceship, teddy bear, roller coaster and the train.
After Kae rode all the rides that he could once we took a break for funnel cake. Yum!
Next we headed to the pony rides. The whole time Izee was on the pony he kept yelling, "Eeee-Ha". He loves being a cowboy! We headed back to the rides and Kae rode a few more. The boys also got to each play one game. They each one a little stuffed animal. Then it was getting dark and time to head home for bed. Kae got to pick one last ride so he picked the carousel. On our way out of the fair I wanted a picture of Kae and the red bear he won. He also wanted to make sure I got a picture of his wristband. He was very excited about the wristband since it was what allowed him to ride so many rides.
