Boy's Road Trip

The boys, Kae, Izee, Andrew and Poppi (my dad), took a road trip to Chicago for a Lorenzetti Family reunion at the beginning of August. (I know, I'm behind on my blogging.) They drove out there and back so they were gone for 7 days. I'll let Andrew tell you all about the trip below.

It was a long time without my boys! I missed them like crazy! While they were gone my mom and I cleaned my house and I caught up on tons of Laundry. I also changed the bedrooms a little bit. Kae got a bedside table and a lamp for his room. Izee got his swing moved out because he is getting so big. In my bedroom I got new bedding and I rearranged the furniture.
Kae's New bedside table. (It is really a footstool but it works great with his toddler sized bed.)

My new "chocolate & blue" bedding. My bed is also under the window now.

From Andrew:
As Alicia said, Mike and I drove the boys out to Chicago. Because let's be honest, they really wanted to see the kids, not Mike and I. A three and one year old in a car for two days each way is very interesting. Imagine in the movie Dumb and Dumber, when Jim Carey's character asks "Do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world? Weeeooaahhhhhh!!!!!" Now imagine that sort of thing for days. But really, considering their age and the circumstances of being stuck in a car for days, they did pretty well.

Once we got to Chicago, it was almost like not having kids. Everyone else wanted to play with Kae and Izee, so Mike and I barely had to do anything (except diaper changes). And Aunt Peggy did a fabulous job of keeping the boys well-fed. Actually, she did a great job (as usual) of keeping everyone well-fed.

The reunion was a nice time, as I got to meet a bunch of people I had only heard about. And while proving just how bad I am at volleyball, everyone had the honor of hearing Kae sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" when he got ahold of a microphone. To be honest, I think everyone within a 4 block radius heard him.

Overall, it was a great time with Alicia's family, and Kae can't wait to go back. Although I think I'll let Alicia and her mom drive next time. Maybe Mike and I will fly there and meet them ;)
