Farm Fun

Kae's preschool class took a field trip to a farm on Tuesday. Mommy, Daddy and Izee joined in on the fun. We all had a great time!

While everyone was arriving Daddy & Kae climbed on the giant hay pile.

Once everyone arrived we took a hay ride around the farm. There wasn't any actual hay in our hay ride but we rode in a large wagon with benches that was pulled by a tractor.

We stopped in a lot of different fields to pick veggies. First we stopped in the potato field. The farmer had already plowed the field so we didn't really have to dig the potatoes out of the dirt, we just had to pick them up off the ground.

Next we stopped at the carrot field. Again the farmer helped us by loosening the dirt. We did pull the carrots out of the ground but only after the farmer loosened the dirt with a shovel.

We also picked watermelon,

squash,

cabbage,

onions,

and, of course, pumpkins.

After the veggie gathering trip, we said "hi" to the animals before we headed home.

It was a great farm trip! Last year the farm we went to had a pumpkin stand but you couldn't actually go out in the field or get any other veggies. Kae had a great time gathering all the vegetables and seeing the farm where they grow. It was so much fun that I think we may have to take an annual trip to this farm.

The Dentist

Now that Kae is a big boy he gets to go the dentist. His first visit went really well. He wasn't scared but mostly very curious about what was happening. The best part was that he kept touching everything in his mouth with his tongue, especially the dental hygienist's hands. She said that was normal for kids his age.

They tried to do x-rays but Kae didn't like it at all so they didn't happen. (To be honest, I don't like the x-rays much either. That thing they stick in your mouth for you to bite on is really uncomfortable.)

He did get a cleaning. They used their bubblegum toothpaste which Kae thought tasted, "yucky". They even flossed his teeth which Kae took really well but he thought it was weird, probably because we've never flossed his teeth before.

Kae was so brave that he got a sticker. He picked out a Mr. Potato Head sticker and then insisted we take a picture of the sticker.
