The Fire Muster

It was a cool drizzly Saturday morning for the 2nd annual Fire Muster. It started with a fire truck parade.
The parade ended at the park where the kids got to climb on the trucks.
Kae's favorite part was the fireman training. They had the trainees go through a tunnel with some fire hose, spray out a fire, and save the baby.
Both boys had a great time! Ever since the Fire Muster Kae plays fireman everyday. He tells me that he is going to be a fireman when he grows up.

ArtWalk

Friday night was Art Walk in our town. They close Main Street for a few blocks and have lots of activities and music. They also have lots of local artist showing off their work at the various businesses on the street. We didn't go into any of the businesses but still had a great time on the street. (The pictures are a little fuzzier than usual because I forgot my camera so I had to use my phone to take pictures.)

They had lots of sidewalk chalk so the kids could draw all over the street.

The local dairy gave out samples of their chocolate milk. Izee thought it was good but got distracted by everything else around him and didn't finish his cup of milk. Kae, on the other hand, had 3 glasses!

One of the local community groups had bubbles and hoola hoops for the kids to play with.
We stopped to play with one of the new pieces of art in town. It is a cool xylophone that even has mallets tied to it so the kids can play music.
One of the gymnastics studios in town gave a demo and then led the kids in a dance on the gymnastics mat. Izee liked watching the gymnasts but didn't want to dance. Kae did a great job dancing with the older kids.
After all the fun cowboy Izee got an "ee-ha" (izee's word for horse) ride back to the car. Daddy is a very good ee-ha.

Another First

After 1 week of pre-k, Kae got his first homework assignment. They sent him home with a paper cutout of a person and he had to make it look like himself.
We could use anything. We used scraps of material for the clothes, buttons for the eyes and ears, and yarn for hair. Mommy and Daddy helped Kae by cutting the material and putting the glue on the paper but he placed everything.
Doesn't it look just like Kae?

Start of School

Kae just started school his second year of presechool last week. This year he is in Kindergarten Readiness class (pre-k) 4 days a week.

He was super excited his first day of school!
Kae is in class with his friend, Charlie. Here they are in the front yard before heading to school. So far Kae loves his school! Each day one kid is the star for the day. The star gets to be the line leader, ring the bell at clean up time and bring one item for show and tell. Everyday, when he gets home, Kae tells me who's turn it was for show and tell and what they brought. Today it was his turn. He took his time deciding what to take and finally settled on his dump truck. He said the kids in his class thought it was cool. His first show and tell was a success!
