Go Daddy!

Daddy did his first triathalon today. Way to go Daddy! Poppi did the race too but his start time was 2 hours before Daddy's. Since we aren't early risers we weren't able to make it in time to watch all of Poppi's events. We did get to watch Daddy do the whole race. Sometimes there was some time between seeing Daddy so the boys played in the bounce house some too.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day 2010 was a beautiful warm day. We celebrated by riding our bikes to the park.
We met up with Nonna and Poppi and we all had a picnic with chicken and shrimpand we played. The boys were taking turns sliding and catching each other. It was so cute!

It was such a nice day that after we finished our picnic and playing at the park we got on our bikes and rode to another park for more playing. Here is a group shot from the second park:

The Boulder Creek Festival

Last Sunday afternoon we were trying to figure out what to do. Then we realized the Boulder Creek Festival was going on. So after naps we packed our dinner picninc and headed to Boulder.

The boys (even Daddy) rode the cars.

Then we found a place to have our dinner picnic and listen to some music. After the boys ate a good dinner we got a funnel cake to share. Yum!
You can't go to the creek festival without playing in the creek. :-) The creek was super full so it was easy to splash in the edge where the water was overflowing it's banks.
I even managed to get the annual picture of my boys by the swollen creek. (This was no small feet this year. I think it took over 15 minutes to get this picture. After calling their names and telling them to smile many many times, Daddy eventually said, "who wants a cookie?" to get both boys to look at me.)

Practice Camping

It started with the boys playing in the backyard with their little tent.
Then it turned into, "Want to get the bigger tent out?" Then I realized it was supposed to be one of the warmest nights that week so we decided to camp in backyard. We called it practice camping because we are going camping for the first time in a few weeks.

We did all the traditional camping activities. We ate s'mores. (Kae is showing off the marshmallow on his hand.)We played in the tent. (Izee is trying to figure out why mom is taking so many pictures.)And we read a story by flashlight before heading to bed. From practice camping we learned that Izee is not quite ready to camp. He just rolled around and giggled in the tent and wouldn't settle down. Izee ended up sleeping in his own bed inside. Kae and daddy slept outside and had a blast. However, the sun does wake kae much earlier then he would normally rise.

After our practice we are super excited for our camping trip in a few weeks!
